About!

The Violet Corner is a blog that I started because I couldn't find was I was looking for anywhere else.

My name is Emily Guy, and I write The Violet Corner for myself in hopes that other people will like it, and pass it along. My goal here was to bring a personal touch to reviews, I wanted to do something different, as well as have some fun along the way. My main focus is reviewing mostly YA speculative fiction, especially any fantasy novels I come across. I will also be reviewing other novels every now and then that I find interesting.

I purchase and/or borrow from the library all of the books from my reviews. I hope one day when I become popular on the internet and more people visit my site that I will be able to receive books from the publisher or author. My main goal is to make people want to read books, I want more people to read and enjoy reading in the world. If and when The Violet Corner ever becomes big enough to receive ARCs, or early release copies I will ALWAYS post in full disclosure how I obtained each and every book I review.

About Emily:
I am a twenty-something that enjoys reading, writing, and video games. I play a lot of World of Warcraft as well. I have been writing stories since I was a child, and hope to one day find enough time to write my own novels.
I tend to focus most of my reading on young adult novels, seriously, these aren't just for kids! My other reading love is the fantasy genre at large. I adore magic, dragons, sword fighting, all the cool things you find in fantasy/ high fantasy novels.
