Book Review Format
I plan on following a format here in The Violet Corner for my book reviews. Something simple, yet something I haven't seen done before. Book reviews will contain 3 parts, depending on how fast I read the book I may have separate posts for each review section, or post all at once.
Dust Jacket Initial Impressions: Here I will simply state what I perceive the book to be about from reading the blurb about the book. Generally I will list all my anticipations, both good and bad about the book, most of them will probably be found to be untrue but amusing.
First 100 Pages: For novels I will post a review of the, you guessed it, first 100 pages. I'll post my impressions versus the blurb summary of the novel, and if the book really captures my attention. I'll be brutally honest, if I'm not hanging onto every word, or even mildly interested I'll tell you.
Overall Review: Here is my section of the full book review. Whether it's worth picking up, or just borrowing from a library. This is a traditional review, and gives my general observations of the book. I'll pick up on wonderful, or terrible characters, great plot points, all the normal stuff from a book review.
